Privacy Policy
Pic Flips reads photos of your deals into your books. This page says exactly what the app collects, what it's used for, who else processes it, how long it's kept, and how to delete it. There are no ads, no analytics trackers, and your data is never sold.
Who runs Pic Flips
Pic Flips is operated by Kareem Ayub, an individual based in Texas, United States ("we", "us"). Questions and requests about your data go to support@picflips.app.
What we collect
Account
When you sign in with Apple, Google, or an email code, we receive your email address and, if the provider shares it, your name. Sign in with Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one; that works fine. We don't see your Apple or Google password.
Deal photos
The photos you take in the app of what changed hands next to the cash or a payment screen. A photo can show cards, sealed product, bills, and a buyer's phone screen with a payment amount. Please don't photograph people; the app only needs the items and the payment.
Your books
Everything you enter or confirm: shows, table fees, inventory and costs, sales, buys, trades, prices, payment methods, notes, and the names of helpers you invite. Also any inventory files you choose to import (for example a Collectr export).
Purchases
Subscriptions are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and RevenueCat handles them for us. RevenueCat gets your Pic Flips account ID (a random code from our sign-in provider; it isn't your name or email), your plan, and the store's record of your purchases (which product, the price, when it started, renews or ended, and refunds). It needs these to sell and restore your subscription and to tell our server which plan your account has. We receive your subscription status and that purchase history from RevenueCat. We never see your card number.
Technical data
Ordinary server logs (IP address, request times, app and OS version, device model) and crash reports, used for security and to fix problems. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we don't collect your contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers.
What it's used for
- To run the service: read each photo into a draft, keep your books, sync them across your devices and your helpers' phones, and show market prices.
- To bill you through the app stores and apply the limits of your plan.
- To answer support requests and keep the service secure.
- To measure how accurate the photo reader is, in aggregate. We don't train AI models on your photos.
- To build better market prices. We study confirmed deal prices across all vendors in aggregate: the item, its grade, the price and the date, never who sold it or to whom. No vendor sees another vendor's deals.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Who else processes your data
These providers process data on our behalf to make the app work. Each is bound by its own terms to use the data only to provide its service.
| Provider | What they do for Pic Flips | What they see |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Sign-in and account security (United States) | Your email, name, and sign-in details |
| Railway | The app's server and database (United States) | Your account and books |
| Cloudflare | Photo storage (R2) and this website | Your deal photos |
| Anthropic | Reads each photo into a draft | The photo and your product list, only to return a reading. Under Anthropic's API terms, that data isn't used to train its models. |
| JustTCG | Market prices for sealed product and singles | Product names and sets, never your photos or who you are |
| RevenueCat | Subscriptions: selling, restoring, and telling our server your plan | Your account ID (not your name or email), your plan, and your App Store or Google Play purchase history |
| Apple and Google | Sign-in and billing | Per their own policies |
Helpers. If a vendor invites you as a helper, the photos you take in their show belong to that vendor's books. The vendor sees your snaps; you see only whether your own snaps uploaded. If you invite helpers, you're responsible for how you use what they capture.
We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of users or the service.
How long we keep it
- Photo files are deleted 30 days after the deal they belong to is settled (confirmed or deleted). The reading made from a photo stays with the deal.
- Your books and account are kept while your account exists.
- Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
- When you delete your account, your account, books and photos are deleted within 30 days, including from backups. The app stores keep their own purchase records, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep.
- De-identified deal prices (the item, its grade, the price and the day, with nothing that links them to you, your shows or your buyers) are kept after your account is deleted, to build market prices. We keep and use them only in that de-identified form, we never try to link them back to anyone, and anyone we share them with must agree to the same.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account in the app under Account, or follow the steps at picflips.app/delete-account.
- Get a copy of your data or correct it: email support@picflips.app from the address on your account. We answer within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share it, and we won't treat you differently for exercising a right. If you disagree with how we handled a request, reply to our answer and we'll take a second look.
Security
Data moves over HTTPS and is stored encrypted at rest by our providers. Access to production data is limited to what running the service requires. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your own records of anything you can't afford to lose, especially during the beta.
Children
Pic Flips is for adults running a business and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Where data is processed
In the United States. If you use Pic Flips from elsewhere, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes
When this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. For a change that matters to you, we'll also tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
